The property has been fully refurbished by new owners but has kept much of the original charm including low ceilings.  There is one bedroom with two single beds.  The galley kitchen has a microwave, toaster and fridge with a small freezer compartment.  There is a washing machine / tumble dryer and a washing line & pegs when the weather allows its use.

The wildlife in Catacol is very special.  If you are up early enough, you may catch otters swimming along the bay;  Red squirrels often pass through the garden looking for a tasty morsel. (Arran is fortunate not to have any Gray squirrels)  and bird watching is a real treat from the shore.  Who doesn’t love the sound of gannets splashing into the sea to disrupt a shoal of fish.

The Back House can be used as an annex to 10 The Apostles that sleeps 5, and is across the access lane.  The two cottages are not connected nor do they share the gardens, so they both offer  privacy.  10A The Apostles sleeps 2 and 10 The Apostles  sleeps 5. Why not rent both properties together for a family gathering of 7?

There is a private patio at the back of the cottage  with table and chairs and views up Cnoc Leacainn Duibhe.   The ferry from Lochranza to Claonaig is a perfect day trip to the Skipness Seafood Restaurant.

Although there are no longer any village amenities in Catacol, the Lochranza Hotel has a convivial bar and  we recommend you treat yourselves to a meal at Stags (BYOB)  the  very popular restaurant much loved by Arran locals. There’s a well stocked  village shop in Pirnmill and The Lighthouse restaurant is next door,  both  just 4 miles away.  The Co-op in Brodick is near Brodick ferry terminal as you disembark and is open 7 days a week until 10pm.  Should you be arriving via the Lochranza ferry, Tarbert is a useful stop for supplies.  You can also place an online food order for delivery from the Co-op.  The owners will happily help you arrange  these extras to make your holiday complete.

Bed linen and towels are supplied at an extra cost for breaks of 3 nights or less.
