The Coach House in Whiting Bay is situated 8 miles from the ferry in a prime coastal location, immediately opposite a sandy beach along the main shore road with sea views across Whiting Bay to the Holy Isle. Originally the stables and coach house of the main house (St Quivox), it was renovated in 2018 into a comfortable, family friendly holiday home with contemporary styling.
Many of the original features have been restored such as the beams in the kitchen/dining room, reclaimed maple flooring in the living room and an exposed full-height brick wall, all of which make attractive features in the kitchen and living room. The living room is on the upper floor as the best views are from the large window there to the Holy Isle.
The patio door provides plenty of natural light and leads out to an elevated decking area. A contemporary wood burner adds to the character, providing a cosy atmosphere, making this property perfect for relaxing winter breaks. Outside, relax in the decking area after a day’s activities and enjoy a glass of wine whilst admiring the view.
There is a large walk-in shower and stand-alone bath in the spacious bathroom which also retains some original features.
Whiting Bay has many great walks including the popular Glenashdale Falls and Giants’ Graves. Also worth the effort is the walk to the King’s Cave from Blackwaterfoot. All village amenities are within 400 yards of the property, such as the beach, shops, coffee shop, restaurant, putting green, and 18-hole golf club. There is a children’s play park within a mile, close to the Whiting Bay Store and Cafe.
The Coach House has oil central heating, with bed linen & towels provided alongside fibre high speed Wi-Fi.. Initial logs for the wood burner are also included. There is a small lawned garden which can be accessed from the decking area.
Private parking for 2 cars and garage space for bikes etc. The bus stop is within 50 yards of the gate.
No smoking or pets please.
We have a top and bottom stair gate, portable high chair and travel cot in the property.
