Arran is a fantastic place to see the second largest fish in the world, the basking shark. Frolicking porpoises and seals are frequent visitors too. There are mystical standing stones, a prehistoric burial site, a Viking burial mound and the natural cavern known as King’s Cave which inspired Robert the Bruce. The island has a scattering of pretty villages on Arran’s stunning coastline which are contrasted by a rugged and mountainous interior in the north. This is a natural paradise with sightings of red squirrels, golden eagles, red deer, otters and seals. If you need inspiration for your picnic, beach barbecue or dinner then Arran offers it all on a plate.

With seven golf courses it is easy to see why this island holds such an appeal for golfers. For adrenaline junkies, Arran offers mountain biking, paragliding, canyoning, sea kayaking, scrambling and more!

Beach 50 yards. Shop 7 miles, pub and restaurant 400 yards.
