8 Hamilton Terrace is a newly refurbished cottage situated in the historic and popular Hamilton Terrace in Lamlash, built in 1893 to the design of Scottish architect, J. J. Burnett.  The property has been in the family for over 50 years. The property is located in the heart of the village across the road from the beach and is the ideal place to base yourself for a family holiday. All amenities including shops, bars/restaurants, tennis courts and golf course are within from approx 100 metres – the golf course is approx a mile away.  The Pierhead Tavern is a popular choice for Locals. Lots of information can be found  here too.

The cottage is newly decorated throughout creating a cosy cottage feel with sea views across Lamlash Bay to the Holy Isle.  The property sleeps 6 comfortably with a dining area for 6 as shown in the kitchen/lounge.  There is a sitting-out area at the front of the property and access to a shared lawn area.   A car parking space is available at the front of the property.

One small dog welcome. A deposit of £250 secures the booking.  Subject to satisfactory housekeepers report booking deposits are normally refunded within 48 hours of departure.

Lounge: Smart TV, Alexa and log burner. Large bay window with boxed seating offers a magnificent view no matter what the weather.

Dining Room/Kitchen: Fitted kitchen with cooker, Bosch washing machine, microwave, fridge, freezer, air fryer and Nespresso machine. The kitchen/dining area provides seating for 6.

Ground floor Bathroom: Bath, Mira electric shower, WC and wash hand basin.

Bedrooms:

Bedroom 1: The downstairs bedroom comprises of a double bed, large wardrobe and drawer space.

Bedroom 2: The upstairs front bedroom comprises double bed, single bed, hanging areas and drawer space.

Bedroom 3: The upstairs back bedroom comprises of a double bed. Large wardrobe and chest of drawers.

Outside Area: Situated in front of the bay window is a large wooden bench for the use of guests. Opposite the house is a communal grass area. There is a grass area slightly to the left of the property and directly across the road in Lamlash, the ‘Green’ runs alongside the beach.

With an abundance of beautiful scenery, Arran offers a host of activities which are on your doorstep when staying in this cottage. Tennis courts, putting green and swing parks are within a few minutes’ walk from the property.

There is an abundance of activities that Arran offers.  I have mentioned only a few below:

  • Otter’s Tail offer kayaking to the Holy Isle and Gorge walking
  • Holy Isle. A ferry service to the tranquil Holy Isle offers an opportunity to meet the Buddhist Monks who own and are residents on the island.  Walk around and see the wild horses and enjoy views back to beautiful Lamlash Bay
  • Lamlash Golf course (18 holes) is one of 7 on the island with the others being Brodick (18), Whiting Bay (18), Corrie (18), Shiskine (12), Machrie (9) and Lochranza (pitch and putt/golf course)
  • There are many peaks to be conquered by hill walkers, Goatfell, the Saddle, Loch Tanna to mention a few.  The house has numerous walking books in the property for visitors to borrow.
  • Horse riding – is available at North Sannox and Blackwaterfoot
  • Brodick Castle and its beautiful and extensive gardens and the fabulous “The Isle be Wild” adventure play park welcome visitors. The Arran Heritage Museumwill take you on a journey to the past and offer well deserved sustenance in their cafe.

For the less energetic or those who like some pampering, Heather Lodge in Brodick has a fantastic team of skilled therapists.  The Auchrannie Hotel offers numerous treatment at their ASPS Spa. The Auchrannie Resort also offers a swimming pool and games hall which is available for hire for badminton, football, table tennis etc.

Arran has a number of local boutique industries such as Arran Ice Cream, Arran Aromatics, Arran Cheese, The Arran Brewery, two Distilleries at Lochranza and Lagg and Arran Botanicals.
